2014 Spell Bowl Team
Switzerland County Elementary recently competed in the local Spell Bowl competition held at Ohio County Elementary-Middle School in Rising Sun. SCES competed with four other schools from the area. The SCES spellers were 1st place in their division and had the best score out of all the schools. Two SCES spellers, Darian Fixmer and Sarah Griffin had perfect spelling rounds and received ribbons. Another speller, Peyton Fixmer received a ribbon for a near perfect round, only missing one word. The members of the team include: Gil Davis, Darian Fixmer, Peyton Fixmer, Sarah Griffin, MaKayla Harris, Jordyn Hemingway, Raylinn Kappes, Tyler Lieland, and Brennan Louden. The team would like to dedicate this win to their coach, Mrs. Kathy Keith, who is recovering from a traffic accident.
